A level 400 student, Mr. Alfred Smith Andam has been adjudged the winner of 2017 University of Ghana (UG) Corporate Icon at just ended Career Week organised by the Careers and Counseling Centre
As part of the Career Week celebrations, students were given the opportunity to submit their CVs to participate in this yaer's Corporate Icon competition. Over hundred students submitted their Curriculum Vitae to participate in this competition. Out of this number only eight made it to the final eight after their CVs were subjected to rigorous screening processes. A mock interview was organised for the finalists, and Mr Andam emerged the winner.
Andam took home the ultimate package from the sponsors including a tablet from MTN. He gets the chance to do his National Service with one of the sponsors.
The other contestants were also given consolation prizes from the sponsors.
The Career Week 2017 themed, "Own Your Career; Don't Dream It, Be It" was held from Tuesday, 28th February, 2017 to Saturday, 4th February, 2017.
The 2017 Career Fair is to help students find out more about what is going on in the working world, to explore different fields and career paths and to develop network of contacts for future use.
The University of Ghana Careers and Counseling Centre was set up to provide students and staff of the university with the opportunity to receive support from trained professionals about their personal, educational and career goals. The main aim is to assist students in formulating and achieving personal, education and career goals.
