Students of University of Education, Winneba last night went on rampage after Medikal’s ten minutes poor performance.

The students who patiently waited for Medikal to leave the stage began throwing gravels at the current SRC executives and organizers. In the process properties worth millions of cedis were destroyed.

According to an eyewitness “They vandalized everything on the stage including the lights… The stage itself… DJ equipments.. Both campus djs and outside djs
They burnt speakers and cut some into pieces… Dragged most of the equipments into the bush”

Street from the venue were blocked with trees, chairs  and pavement blocks making  it difficult for police to get access to the venue to maintain law and order.
The police arrived late after equipment were already burnt but managed to bring the situation under control.

Students of University of Education, Winneba are known for their peaceful nature, however they couldn’t contained the rage with which they have kept for so long and exploded like a volcano.

Report has it that the incident was as a result of the intercom’s decision to bill only one artist (Medikal) for the night. The students therefore see no reason why that should be the case considering the huge some of money paid as dues.

Meanwhile, before the incident, students are already disappointed at the administration of the  2016/17 executives of SRC for having nothing to show ever since they assumed office.

The branded SRC pen drives promised to students by the 2016/17 administration could be described as a hoax since some are virtually empty and others having 2gig instead of 8 gig.

The above and many more factors contributed to the unfortunate incident on the night.
Prior to the rampage, a student openly insulted  the  mother of the SRC president, Mr Jarvis Koffie whilst he was on Campus file show on Radio WindyBay.

Management is yet to comment on the incidents.
