The chairman of  the SRC  electoral commission, Hon. Gyapong Safo Wilbert released vetting results of aspirant who picked nomination forms to contest this year’s elections on 29th March, 2017.

A nine member committee which was constituted by the Local Assembly and chaired by the electoral commissioner started its work on Wednesday 22nd of March and ended Monday 27th of March at exactly 3am.

In an interview, spokesperson for the vetting committee, Mr. Robert Atsu Okor said that the vetting process was generally successful. He was however quick to add that, some  aspirants having read the provisions as regards this year’s elections still appeared before the vetting committee knowing very well they do not meet the requirement, especially regarding their CGPAs.

In addition, some of the aspirants seem unprepared as they failed to answer questions pertaining to their office couple with other minor issues such as mistakes and omissions on aspirants CV among others.

Per the results, this year’s SRC Presidency is going to be keenly contested between candidates with same surname as in Patrick Agyei, a student of Business Administration who pulled 92.4% and Joseph Agyei, a student of  English Language 79.0%  respectively.

Meanwhile, 10th April, 2017 has being set for the main showdown. We entreat all and sundry  to be glued to this space for all the build up to the this year’s general elections.
