The University of Professional Studies, Accra, bas won the maiden edition of the National Accounting Quiz (NAQ) which was organized by Young Professional Accountants Network (YPAN), a non-governmental consult which seeks to motivate young people to become chartered accountants. YPAN in collaboration with Databank, ACCA, CIMA and UPSA brought the maiden edition to bear.


The maiden edition which was supposed to last for five days with 16 schools participating only lasted for two days with just five schools participating. 
On October 3, 2017, the opening ceremony took place at the Lecture Block Complex (LBC) auditorium on UPSA campus. Immediately after the program was launched, the first group (Group A) which comprised of Accra Technical University (ATU), Ghana Technology University College (GTUC) and Central University College (CUC) started the opening of the maiden edition of the quiz. Immediately after Group A had finished their contest, there was a preparation of the next group—Group B which comprised of University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), the hosting school and All Nations University.
At the end of the whole context for the first day, the total results of the five groups were published and UPSA pulled 40 points, All Nations-29, GTUC-23, CUC-20 and ATU-19 which legitimately eliminated ATU from the context. 
The semi-final took place on October 4, 2017 and at the end of the whole context in the semi-final, UPSA and Central University qualified for the Finals. 
The grand finale began after 30 minutes and after an interesting round, the whole contest came to an end and the host school-UPSA-won the competition and carried the trophy with some scholarship packages for the contestants.
